It was the strangest feeling. I thought I was about to get robbed around every corner. And it turns out everyone was really bending over backwards to help the idiot tourist.

As Trump, Musk, and DOGE crusade against government waste, I find myself concerned instead about private-industry waste resulting from government regulations. Have we built a society that prioritizes perfection at the expense of affordability, efficiency, and sometimes common sense? Have we already sacrificed our freedom in exchange for safety, all in the name of progress?

My words cannot convey the impressions and impact of learning these stories… I also can’t transfer the love I have in my heart for a people who have risen so far above…
