Meet the Hall Family

We are the Hall family, adventurers at heart, who have embraced the world as our classroom. Phil is a previous network security specialist who left his job to help homeschool his children & be a fulltime travel planner. Alicia is a life & self-worth coach, helping people heal from toxic relationships while also homeschooling our children. The oldest is currently enrolled in the military while attending college at UVU, and our second is serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Orem, Utah. That leaves Gavin, Claire, and Hallie joining us as worldschoolers and digital nomads, seeking to learn from every corner of the globe.

Our journey began with a desire to live intentionally, focusing on what truly matters: family, faith, and cultural understanding. From the ancient streets of Rome to the vibrant landscapes of Peru, we immerse ourselves in new experiences, growing together as a family.

Our Travel Purpose

Connecting Through Faith and Culture

Our mission is to strengthen our family ties by sharing meaningful experiences across the globe. We believe in serving the Lord through acts of kindness and community service in every place we visit. By engaging with diverse cultures, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around us.

Through our travels, we strive to educate our children beyond traditional boundaries, offering them a rich tapestry of languages, traditions, and histories. Our journey is not just about seeing new places but about connecting with people and learning from their stories. We invite you to follow along as we share our adventures and insights, hoping to inspire others to seek their own paths of discovery.

Latest from Our Travels

The stark contrast of peace and chaos

Our family visited the Uros floating islands of Lake Titicaca, and it showed us just how tired we are of living in a busy city. We rented a car and embarked on the 5-hr drive to Puno, a lakeside city where we were to catch a ferry and stay two nights on one of the...

One Year Later: Still Following, Still Growing

We don’t know how long we’ll be on the road—but we’re following God’s map, not ours.

Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain, & Machu Picchu

As celebration of our one year of World Travels, we flew north to Cusco where we spent ten days touring the Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain, and Machu Picchu. Our trip started with an early morning flight, then a 2.5hr drive from Cusco plus an extra 3 hours before our...

In Dino Park

One day my mom and me were going to the store. But I didn’t know that we were going to Dino Park!

Beauty Amongst the Rubble

Arequipa has turned out to be nothing like we imagined — and, honestly, one of our biggest adventures yet.

Wherever You Go

Throughout our travels, God has consistently reassured us with the message, “You are needed wherever you go.”

Daily Travel Life – Education

Last year was a roller coaster of program changes and shifting philosophy. The curriculum graveyard, the world as our classroom, unschooling, no summer break…

Daily Travel Life – Spending Our Time

It’s a lifestyle, not a vacation. It has been a meaningful change of pace, though. I am slowly rewiring my brain from a lifetime of “needing” to learn, grow, do, and be more all the time.

Daily Travel Life – Making Ends Meet

Selling everything and swapping a house full of possessions for a suitcase is liberating! Smart travel costs us less than our U.S. living did.

Wales, England

Another pet/home stay with the perk of being only a ten-minute drive from my aunt and uncle!

Progress vs. Simplicity

Progress vs. Simplicity

As Trump, Musk, and DOGE crusade against government waste, I find myself concerned instead about private-industry waste resulting from government regulations. Have we built a society that prioritizes perfection at the expense of affordability, efficiency, and sometimes common sense? Have we already sacrificed our freedom in exchange for safety, all in the name of progress?

Where to next?

Where would you go? We’re open to recommendations!

Our goal is in each location is to spend enough time to really connect with the people and learn of their culture. We’re not just another tourist on vacation, this is our current lifestyle.

While our wish list is long, it is a prayerful exercise to determine where the Lord will lead us to next.
